Without flowers, I am highly skeptical that it had TSWV. The photo you showed seems to match the pattern, but as Shelly mentioned, it usually shows up first on new foliage at top.
I'm sure you know this, but copper/daconil does nothing for TSWV, although I suspect you sprayed it in case the problem was fungal. Fortunately, you had a backup, and that's probably the best route to go in this situation. Also, I'm a big fan of planting yellow marigolds around the garden to act as a "trap crop" for thrips. I believe it's been 3 years since I've seen TSWV in my garden since I've been doing this...... YMMV. Lee

Lee, I gave it about 5 days or so and the growth was stunted, the 'black' didn't go away, leaves curled...there were flower buds but definitely not open.
Had something bothering it for sure. No yellowing of leaves, spots ect. Will prob get some marigolds! Thanks guys! Greg |

I have had TSWV on seedlings set out to harden off way before they ever get any blooms. It isn't as common as getting TSWV once flowering starts but it does happen. TSWV has also become a more troublesome problem with bell peppers in recent years around here. So far this season I only have one plant out of 39 showing definite TSWV symptoms and I hope the problem stays small this season.

I have thrips every year in the past 4 years. I have also had TSWV and that does not look like TSWV Im no expert but it looks bacterial or fungal. Is that discoloration on the surface of the leaves or is it in the leaves? |

I found the marigolds thing works MUCH better of you give the marigolds a dousing of spinosad. Then it works as both a lure away from your tomato plants but also as a death trap so they CANT make more thrips.
Still, best thrips control method I found is green lacewings. |

Ozone, sorry I can't say now because she's in the trash. lol Sprayed it a week earlier with Copper spray, noticed it, sprayed with Daconil, leaves curled, stunted growth compared to others next to it as seen in the pics, so I pulled it.
I looked for new growth or flower buds but nothing. I had the back up and hopefully ARGR will produce for me again this year. Greg |

Well, looks like I discovered a similar issue on one of my dwarf plants.
Also, notice no flowers yet here either. I have 3-4 other spare ones, so this guy may get yanked real soon. Lee

I hate TSWV. It accounts for the biggest percentage of lost tomato plants almost every year for the past decade. The only thing worse for me is Late Blight but thankfully it doesn't seem to hit here too often. The other real bugaboo for me is spider mites which can be devastating in a dry year.

Thrips have been strong this year. As a reminder, make sure to hit all vegetation, especially flowers. I just sprayed with Deltamethrin, does a great job of wiping the slate.
I'm with Bill in the TSWV haters camp. |

Sticky traps
I know you are a proponent of yellow sticky traps. I've been using them this year. How long are they good? Also, I'm seeing thrips on YST, in that case, do you spray as well? If so, what do you spray. I'm liking the traps and seeing a variety of trapped insects, ranging neutral to harmful. Glad to get em! |
