Looking great Ray!
Question: Will or do you ever grow a fall pea crop up North? |

Thanks! I just put one plant in the middle, since I know they get pretty big. Good to know that there's actually room for two. Lyn |

Ok great! I planted some in the spring and had a great crop but I had to pull them towards the end of their production run due to PM. I want to run a late spring and fall crop for snow and sweet pees.

Hi Ami,
I am now trialing the combination of John & Bobs Optimize with Nourish (BioSol): So far, the cukes are liking it. More trials on corn shortly. https://www.johnandbobs.com/purchase...oil-optimizer/ Raybo Last edited by rnewste; July 1, 2013 at 04:03 PM. |

Hi Raybo,
Your garden looks great as usual! I'm especially impressed by your Dona F1s as they seem to be about half again as large as mine. Maybe the soil mix/fertilizer makes the difference??? I believe we have the same seed source (although my seeds are much older and from TGS - I believe they came from Valmorin), but I haven't used any fertilizers after transplanting. Also, helpful to get your opinion on Dester. I keep reading about it and have been thinking about it for next year but there have been some negative comments on the forums recently that had me rethinking things.... so nice to hear your opinion. What varieties are you growing for your fall and Christmas seasons? Anything new and different? Anne PS - your corn is very impressive too! We just started eating corn from our garden and looks like we'll be having it daily now for a couple of weeks! It does grow fine at close spacing. |

Geeze Louise Raybo,
Are you immune to the heat? What the heck? I'm too dumb to be dumbfounded. Charley |

Beautiful Raybo. I can't even imagine having plants looking that healthy this time of the year. Right now it looks like I'm going out and checking on palm trees trained to a trellis. I have four container plants of which I will most certainly not be posting any pics. I am in awe of your ability to grow in containers plants so large and healthy. Congrats on a job well done.

The Cooleraoo shade fabric over the tomato plants has made a big difference in them surviving the hot California sun this time of year.
The Fall tomatoes consist of several Desters plants along with Brandywine Cowlicks, Big Daddy, Dona F1s, Odoriko, and Momotaro Fight. Raybo |
