If you have a Menards in your area they have the flats for 99 cents. I didn't see inserts. A week or so ago they were on sale for 89 cents each. I missed the sale.

Our Menards had the trays and inserts,,,you could buy them separately. Inserts came 8 to a pack, with 9 cells in each for a couple of dollars. Was a really good deal, I think.

Those extra deep inserts that perennial growers use i bet would be nice, but yeah, too expensive. I like the 36s for peppers, too.
Sigh..maybe i'll just stick to 1801s.... I'm starting 50-some varieties, i germinate in egg cartons (had three more just like this) to keep them organized and transplant and label individually....these are from last year, yes, i know they're too big, but they did fine. |

I'm just cheap, i hate paying retail, i burn through alot of flats in a season...tomatoes are only one of many garden obsessions! I do get a lot of freebies that the folks i give plants and veggies to save for me, that helps.
