Jeff I know well and just sent him off a few varieties he wanted and a couple of surprises.

There are many places where seeds for Earl of Edgecombe can be bought and TGS and Sandhill Preservation come to mind without my doing a google search.

BTW, I think Jeff does a wonderful job with his tomatoes as well as having accurate tomato descriptions. TGS and Victory and Sandhill are also good with descriptions, I think. And pretty soon all the 400 or so varieties at Sandhill will have the basic info on plant habit, leaf form and other traits, hopefully in 2010 since the 2009 catalog is being printed as we speak and most of the website has been updated, but not all.

At last i have the first ripe fruit,I`ll get some seed on the way back to you Zana in the next few days.I hope to have enough seed available to offer to others within New Zealand for next season.

Looking good there! I am very happy that the 3 remaining seeds I had produced something for you. It would've been a total bummer for both of us if none of them germinated.

Take your time. I may not be able to grow much of anything this year with not knowing yet where we're moving. Sighhhhh.

I`ve yet to try a taste Ray,how much more colour can i expect before its fully ripe?

Zana i will in that case keep building up seed volume,i had taken cuttings as well which are flowering now so there will fruit coming over the next three months

discovered this thread and the earl of edgecumbe was a distant relative and was after some seeds of the tomato.
he lived here in nz and took over th ecastle in england and it reverted to the local council due to deth duty expenses -- i believe --

Carolyn, and Kay,also noting that if you go to the WANTED seed subforum and ask for seeds I know that you will get offers. Asking for seeds in the Legacy Forum doesn't work that well. I forgot to say this in the post I just did here.
