Hey Tom,

How has your season gone? Mine was over a few weeks ago due to school/football starting again. Only Kimberly was left for the fall. My Brandywine Red never got overly large either, and my seeds were from the same place you got yours. I did have a few in the 6-8 oz range. My plant did have a virus and looked sick most of the season, so I was just thankful to get a taste of them. I thought they had a very good taste. I plan to grow them again. I may try a different seed source for them also.

Where are your pics located? I think next year I will order some RBWfrom sandhill and give them a try. My team's name is the Cardinals. If you want some more here is a list of some area high school fb teams.

Ploughboys
Lobos
Hippos
Rebels
Bulldogs
Badgers

Good luck with the rest of your season. Did you grow New Big Dwarf? If so, what did you think of it? I really liked it.

a dwarf yellow that MAY give yellows
a "bland" name ~ (IMHO)

Here are a couple leaf pic's of my supposedly
"red brandywine":

Some say its a "no-go" -
Let me know what you got ~

Tom

ps. thanks for the names !!!

The ones in feldons picture look like the brandywine rejects I used to throw out. I would save only the perfect ones for my family who had no idea of the sacrifice I was making for them. Luckily I generally had a good percentage of perfect ones unless it was a freak year or i grew them too late.

Obviously it would be a crime to waste such a tomato so i would gorge on them before chucking the cracked parts and the stem on the compost pile. Good times, very good times. This is my favorite tomato of all time.

The seeds that grew this were sold as Red Brandywine to my friend 20 miles away. Are they 'Red Brandywine'?
No, They're NOT -- They're just Regular Brandywine

Taste was on the sweet side; but not overly done, not tart, meaty yet juicy & the acid was there; but not strongly overdone either.

Ooops, I forgot, I moved the pics to a different File. Moving photo files can break their links.

Tom,

Ooops, I forgot, I moved the pics to a different File. Moving photo files can break their links.

They're fixed now.

DavesGarden.com considers posting their photos on other people's websites to be "bandwidth theft". I don't agree with that concept and have little problem with people using my photos on their websites as long as it's not anything illegal.

If DavesGarden doesn't want their photos to be linked, show up in the Google Image Cache, or allow users to read forum posts at Google, maybe they should set the site to block Google from visiting.
