I almost reached 2 lbs this year - 31.75 oz, lots of 24 oz, and some 27 oz. None were fused though.

You seem to be getting what a typical large beefsteak variety, in my garden, produces. I do nothing to the plants, except pinch off lower dying leaves/branches.

Nearly all varieties will produce fruit of between 27 and 31 1/2 ounces, maximum. I thought that my scale was stuck/broken, with so many tomatoes weighing in at almost exactly 28 1/2 ounces.

Somewhere out in my garden, among almost 200 plants, there is one Domingo. I think that I will remove early blossoms, wait for a mega-bloom to set, and remove any blooms after that. One of these years I might break the 3 pound barrier.

Ok here's my experimental tomato at 11.96 lbs. I wanted to see if it could actually hold its own weight on the vine without pulling off and the result is absolutely no problem! I usually always put them in hammocks but I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't.

My largest tomato to date at 17.15 lbs. It was the nicest tomato I've ever grown, so symmetrical! Picture of most of the 9 WR tomatoes of this year.

My Chuck Yellow & Orange Strawberry Heirloom Tomatoes is Bigger this year with all this Heat. But I cannot Display these Big Beauties in my Market because it is too hot. So I have decided to Give them to the Medical Field with Beautiful Displayed Bowls of Large Heirloom Tomatoes for their Service to the Community. Especially the Beautiful "City of Newport News" which helped me with my research in Finding the Land my Great Grandfather Farmed in front of Fort Monroe.

Please Protect yourselves and your Tomatoes from this unusual Heat, Amen!!

Thanks Karen! Now onto the second round of plants. When I started 7 yrs ago I I never dreamed that 17 lbs was even possible, I was super excited when I grew a 8.61 WR my first year, I couldn't at that time even imagine a tomato twice that size!

Just curious as to the lineage of your super giants, is it descended mostly from just one of the three or four known giant throwing varieties, or a purposeful blend of several of them a few generations back?

I cannot imagine growing a tomato that big! Congratulations!
