Randy,

Those almost look like tobacco plants with eggplant attached to them! At least compared to my plants. Next year I may use containers to grow eggplant in as mine this year have done extremely poorly in the ground. I do have one eggplant that's about 3" long, but the plant it's on can't be more than 8" tall.

Doubt I'll like the taste myself but wont know until I try it I guess.

OmahaJB,

Across the board my container eggplant plants are doing better than my in ground plants. Going forward I'm only going to grow them in containers. BTW, I used Miracle Grow Potting soil.

I didn't know whether I'd like eggplant or not. I started growing them as a deal with a lady I work with. Last year she made the best eggplant parmesan that I've ever tasted. So, I made the deal that I'd grow eggplants and give her some plants to grow and I'd also grow out some plants if she made me eggplant parmesan. I found out, much to my surprise, that I like eggplant. Well at least the Ping Tung Long.

The second package of Ping Tung Long germinated quite well (I sowed the whole thing) and they're at the second leaf stage so I'm going to see about putting them in the ground tonight. Was going to do it this afternoon, but it poured, finally.

I'm looking forward to trying them, I made eggplant Parmesan from market purchased eggplants the other night and the kids loved it.

Enjay,

Glad to hear you finally got some viable seed. I think you're going to like it.
