My husband is very tolerant about it and is really nicely enthusiastic ("That's beautiful honey, what a nice shape.") He gets extra credit, given that he thinks raw tomatoes are revolting, to the point that he has a hard time even eating a sandwich that there was a tomato slice on. Even if the slice is picked off, the sandwich is "contaminated."
I could probably use a tomatoholics support group. I can't seem to stop myself. I'm growing in pots on the deck. My dad is ripping out the deck to replace it this summer, and I was told to limit the big heavy plants in pots as much as possible, since we're going to have to move them around. This was my first year growing from seed, and I must have bought at least 20 kinds of seeds last winter. I limited myself to 12 plants of 8 varieties; I have a feeling he was thinking maybe 3 plants. Even worse, despite the fact that I have at least a dozen varieties I haven't even tried yet, I bought 5 more packs of seed last week. And dad's going to kill me if I rot the new deck out with planter water.... jj61 - Thanks. Sounds like your Pippin has the same personality as my Koshka (had to fix that, just saw i spelled her name wrong). She's a doll, but I must admit I used the picture because I find the pictures of her in her kittycape hilarious (supercat). She's almost more like a dog than a cat, will actually stand up and put her front paws on my leg to be picked up and carried around. She's a bengal, so is spotted like a leopard. Was trying to post a better pic to show her spots, but can't get it to work at the moment. |
