Brush saw or clearing saw works for me.

Thanks to all. I conquered the pampas today and survived without major injury though "death by a thousand cuts" is still a possibility!

I have gas powered hedge trimmers that I usually use but a chain saw was so much quicker and easier. I did not make it to Harbor Freight but the ratchet ties are definitely on my buy list for next year!
