uncle steve italian pole beans now available.

I am originally from Verona, Italy, so I am interested in anything that is Italian.
I would love to try some of Uncle Steve's pole beans.

right now, i don't have enough seeds to part with. my freshest seeds are 3 years old. they still germinate very well, but seed saving is iffy in the keweenaw. last years seeds that were drying were stolen away by mice. i won't know until october if i'll have enough seed stock. i'm always praying for a later frost. time will tell.

I accidentally obtained a mystery bean from a friend. I'm wondering if it might not be Uncle Steve's Italian Pole Bean. Very vigorous vines, up to 11" long, flattened green pods with red/purple streaking. Here are some pictures. I will include a picture with two beans in it. This one is the one on the top. Anyone able to confirm that this is or isn't it?






Some actually turn bright red before drying down. These were fine for snaps when young.

George, they look like Borlotto Beans to me.

Thanks folks. I looked and compared with Borlotto. It is Borlotto. The people who gave me the seed remembered it as Borlotto when I asked about it by name.
