The outer cages, made from a roll of field fence, are 4', and the Earthboxes are about a foot so 5' total, and I let the vines grow over them, or take a third firring strip into the area, then wrap wire around the firring strips, then put the upper vines through them. Mostly I just let them fall over the top and down.

Thank you. Since you might read this, I am wondering which tomatoes you might choose for the few Earthbox spots that will open up when I yank my sweet peas with the current heat wave. I have

Secret Sauce, Sneaky Sauce, Dwarf Awesome, Pink Berkeley Tie Die, dwarf Dark Queen, Maglia Rosa,

FWIW, aside from a few tomato sandwiches, and including an amazing tomato pie recipe, I seem to prefer cooked tomatoes. The exception a might be Sungold and Pineapple, which I think aren't practical in an Earthbox

I already have at least one of each.

I grow 2 SunGolds in an Earthbox, and a SunChocola too, with another variety(any other), again I grow ANY tomato in an earthbox, always alongside of another. Always 2 tomato plants per Earthbox any and every variety.
