Because of limited space, I am growing just two of DWS, and one of Searching for the Blue Zebra. Are you growing very many of any of them? It would be so much fun to grow lots of each.

I am growing 2 dws, 3 sfbz, 3 sbwm & 2 Green Lantern's Light. Also OSU Blue which I had saved seed from last yr. I had more of the blues but I selected the ones with the bluest stems & undersides of the leaves.
They are all going to be variable because they are not stable varieties yet. Steve S |

Dancing With the Smurfs and Seattle's Woolly Blue Mammoth pics
Both of these have had a growth spurt the last few days.

I really like the look of Seattle's Woolly Blue Mammoth. I wish I had one growing next to my Roughwood Golden Tiger---that would look really sharp. I'm a sucker for fuzzy tomato plants. I wonder how WBM would do in an Iowa climate....

Greg, do the stem/leaves have a purplish hue/tint to them, like the picture above yours? Just wondering if the color varies from plant to plant.

Of I remember correctly the DWS are F3 generation so we all probably will have some different looking plants. If I can remember to get a pic soon I will. My DWS is as above stated a blueish green foliage, as so far the plant is 3 1/2- 4ft tall with lots of small blooms in cherry type clusters. This week we finally go a break from the rains and 90 + days with 70% humidity so I am hoping some fruit will set. So far lots of blossom drop.
I give the plant credit for hardiness though. It was damaged by herbicide drift and to be honest I had given up on it, it turned brownish and had deformed growth for 3 weeks. It has now fully recovered and has exploded with growth. The plant characteristic would be that it is a bit wispy but the color is unique and the plants now seem very healthy. If I can at least get some seed from it this year I will try and continue to grow it out.

My Seattle's Woolley Blue Mammoth has some fruit just set. The leaves on it remind me of the leaf on lamb's ear plant as far as texture and color. The tiny fruit so far are green.
The fruits on DWS are at this pint green with blue shading or stripes. |
