Ooops! Sorry Tom. That's right you got those
Kalman's from someone in Australia. Darn! I seemed to remember something about you sending seeds to some poor devil in Tasmania. Well, the memory is the first thing to go....JJ61   |

Sorry, but Livingston's Favorite was definitely not mine.
Unremarkable plant/taste to me..... Now ask me about Livingston's Stone! That one is a tomato I can rave about! Now back to the thread.... I call my plants sent to other people "foster farms". I've got one in Greensboro pumping out tomatoes from about 20 different varieties. (Thanks dad!) And I've got another in Apex which has about 10 varieties. The largest though is a combo of Craig's tomatoes being sent to a farm of some people I know near Yadkinville, NC. The guy has over 600 tomato plants (mostly Big Beef) and over 100 of Craig's tomato plants. Variety total is around 60~70 different ones. I visited there last Saturday. The plants were meticulously labeled, marevlously staked and tied (Florida weave size). Picked over 100 pounds of tomatoes from there for bringing to Tomatopalooza IV. Great to have foster farms to feed our addiction! Lee

So, the first two varieties I got from him were slightly off I'm sure the others will be right on the mark. Carolyn, You did mention the correct name of Olena Ukranian to me several months ago and I made a mental note to correct that. **mental note to self** no more mental notes! |

Ciao all,
Due to my dear boyfriend's selective babysitting skills while I was in California, I didn't have many give-aways this year. A few went to eager gardeners at a local plant swap and Grub's Mystery Green PL and Sophie's Choice were reserved for Father Ernie. I didn't even have an extra Ernesto for him this year, sigh. Oh well, he always gets my extra whatevers from my garden..right now, it's eggplants and basil.

My neighbors Tom and Dora
Tom liked the looks of my raised and beds and the flavor of my tomatoes, so he built 2 raised beds similar to mine. I picked the varieties, except that he had to have two Regina's Yellow, their absolute favorite from last year and also something Polish. They also wanted Galina's again this year but I didn't start it so I gave them a Dr. Carolyn instead. Opalka Regina's Yellow Mexico Lida Japanese trifle Kentucky beefsteak Gregori Altai |
