Looked up a good you tube video on pruning cukes. Interesting. Guess I will give it a shot this year. And maybe instead of 2 go to at least 3 per container. That will free up a container for a 2nd black krim tomato! woo hoo!
I moved 2 sweet success to the same container that already had 2 for a total of 4. So I plan to prune and train and hope for "success". Last edited by Jaysan; May 4, 2012 at 01:05 PM. |

I do not get on TV much anymore, mostly work and family time constraints. However, when I do get a chance to login, I always look for your Earthtainer farm pics. They are just...just..awesome. Truly inspirational Ray. Great job and congrats with your success with the "farm".

The taste of IR is awesome along with YQ. I am growing so many Tidy plants that I didn't plant either of those dwarves this year. I do have Sherry's Dwarf Arctic Rose which should come in a little earlier than the other dwarves. Good to see that the Alaskan plants are enjoying your sunny weather.

Ray
As always simply inspiring to us here in good ole VA. I put out a couple of plants last month and finally have a few setting fruit....but my Brandy Boy just won't set well it still cool here and few more weeks should turn everything up to high gear. I'm searching for substitute replacement for our dwindling supply of Old Tomato Tone. |

Sue,
I took a chance and put the Iditarod Red in the outdoor EarthTainer on January 29. I guess I had a feeling that an Alaskan bred tomato plant would be hardy and able to withstand some cold weather along the way. I am very happy with the taste of the Iditarod Red from both the indoor InnTainer plants grown over the Winter (and still producing today) as well as the outdoor plant now producing. In fact, I may be able to get 365 day production this Year from this one variety indoors and outside. Raybo |

Thanks Steve and All,
Been a lot of work put in to running new trials this Season. So far, the results look very positive on a number of fronts such as the Bat Guano, as well as combinations of Fox Farm Happy Frog and Ocean Forest, mixed in with the new Sunshine Advanced Mix #4. See the key in the bottom right for details on these combinations. Will be fun to track how they perform during 2012: Now, to crank up the heater in the ole Hot Tub. I am REALLY sore! Raybo |
