I know beer is not the conventional way of removing slugs, but it does work. You can buy cheap large single beers at the store. The slugs aren't picky.

I don't know myself, only what I was told on a forum in a thread where I was looking for "tart" tomato types. I would be tempted to try but the poster didn't give any information on how much salt and I don't wish to harm any plants. |
