My four are doing well. I wanted to bag some blossoms, but as it's been brutal hot, I haven't yet. Now that the heat wave has broken, I'll look into that.

Here is one of my three Vince P1 plants. They are all like this... not particularly in a hurry to get taller, just short, stocky and very wide. The other two plants are swathed in bird netting right now because they were getting nibbled on by quail. They all have buds on them but no blossoms yet. This one was set out on June 17.

What do your plants look like?

Mine are bushy, a bit shorter than some. Tons of blossoms, and some fruit set. But the fruit look like they have nipples! I'll take my camera next time I go over there.

The same here, stocky growing plants and fruit seem to have a nipple, though they are quite small yet.

My 3 plants as well are stocker and shorter than I expected. Although, my Sungolds aren't growing as tall as they usually do so far this year either. As for the tomatoes, they look about as big as Black Cherry with a more oval shape. I can't wait till they start to color up!

I have fruit on 2 of 4 Vince P1 plants (the other two are in a different location. Here's what they look like. Carolyn, maybe we will make you some mini-hearts?

Nothing wrong with some mini-hearts, you know me, but I'm going to ask Lee if he can dig up the picture of Vince P1 fruits that were on a plate at the last Tomatopalooza b'c as I recall they were round as can be.

Little knobs and small protrusions at the blossom end of fruits can also be due to environmental influences and the best know is prolonged high heat. So take a look at fruits that form later in the season nearer to fall when the temps aren't so hot, and see what they look like.

I was hoping for the hearts, just for you

(even if they're "wrong")

We sure do have the prolonged high heat, in spades, but I have not seen that on any other of my plants. It will be very interesting to see what develops, especially if the heat ever breaks.

Here is a picture of a cluster of Vince P1s growing on my deck (3 plants in this oversized SWC). You'll see the one on the left has a little point on the end, but the others do not. I looked more closely at all of them and saw that there are definitely a few with the pointy end with the rest being more round. True that we have also had prolonged high heat in NYC as well. Will keep an eye on this.

Tam, loook at the size and length of the sepals as compared to the fruits. What you're looking at are baby fruits.

I'm sure you're right. I just thought perhaps some of those bigger ones looked like they were planning on being bigger than sungold. Maybe not then

Cute little babies - I can't wait to see what mine turn into.

All the men working at the farm where I have my garden are quite entertained by tomatoes with nipples haha

I took a close-up shot. They are about the same size as Black Cherry. They are bigger than Sungold. Once I start to pick some I'll do a side by side shot with Sungold so you can see.

Ah, then I'm not nuts

Well maybe I'm am... but not about that...

Well I personally will be delighted if they're larger than sungold, as I find the size of sungold annoying and like a bigger cherry. Although I do understand Vince was aiming at sungold size.

Does anyone remember what generation these guys are now? If I knew, I seem to have forgotten.

I guess if we all get the same thing, we save the seed and go on? What if we get different results, but they're good?
