Love it. I'm with lakelady: Bombs away!

Cucumbers seem like a fine addition to the front yard decor.

Always seems to be the way eh? My lovingly tended squash seedlings, including some zucchini starts that my four-year-old niece gave me and I therefore transported all the way from Halifax to Lake Ontario (2 hrs on plane, 3 hrs on train) have been ravaged by slugs and bugs and who knows what.

And what do I find last week as the ONLY weed poking through in my heavily mulched (kraft paper covered with straw) tomato beds? A huge, healthy young squash plant. I actually dug it up and transplanted it to the bed where I wanted it---I know squash don't like to be moved but I figure, what the heck, I'm going to pull it from the tomato bed so it can hardly hurt. It wilted drastically, but durned if it isn't starting to grow new, healthy shoots from the base....

Today I found another in another tomato bed. Probably both butternuts based on my composting habits.

Haven't decided what to do about this guy....
