As you can see we grow lots of Lemon Boy - 54 plants this year.
Great all around tomato. They are very meaty and make great chunky salsa.
We sell a lot of these. Once a customer tries them they ask for them the next time. Never noticed any "citrus-like taste" however.

I have Lemon Boy Hybrid seed but have yet to actually grow it. I thought from pictures on seed webside it stayed a lighter yellow, hence the name "lemon." Yours look fairly gold, but maybe that is just the lighting.

How do you make your salsa?

Mine was much lighter than those posted above. Like Big Bird yellow.

They darken up quickly after harvesting.

We use this mix for salsa...it's virtually foolproof!

Mild is VERY mild, we like the hot but it's not unbearably hot. Give it a try on one batch then you can make "adjustments" as needed for your desired heat level.

They darken after harvest, and they'll turn goldener (if that's a word) if you don't pick them soon enough. I try to pick them when they're still yellow.

Funny to me, no tomato tastes citrus-like to me. Pineapple tomato doesn't taste like a pineapple. Lemon cucumbers don't taste like lemons. And dark tomatoes don't have a smokey flavor. I have a smoker, I know smokey. I just see these descriptions often in catalogs. I bet if you called a variety BLT, the descriptions would say "it has a hint of bacon flavor".

Ah, the wonders of marketing! Only a few times have I agreed that a vegetable had a "fruity" flavor, but not often.
