My favorite tomato sandwich:

Soft, thin pita bread, sliced in half and opened into pockets
Slather mayo inside on one side
Slice of good quality mozzarella on the mayo
Slices of Black from Tula tomato, sprinkled with a little salt
Pop in the toaster oven until the cheese starts to get gooey

Everyone loves them!

I had two plants of these this year and they also still have a good amount of fruit still on them, although not as large as some of the earlier fruit. They were the second largest producers of the eight sauce/paste varieties I grew. I guess they like the growing conditions in our area!

Today was going to be the day I was going to pick all my greens to ripen inside then pull the plants to start prepping the bed for garlic planting, but the rain has resulted in a stay of execution.

How dare you.

My wife has strict orders not to even think about buying supermarket tomatoes. I'd rather starve.

I don't feel the least bit guilty for eating store bought tomato's.

Same for onions, garlic, and chile's.

I don't care who's pimpin' em.

Like a crack addict, I just gotta' have 'em!

I don't know where you shop, but around here the typical store bought tomatoes taste like...nothing. Bland, flavorless, usually hard and dry, and definitely not worth the amount of money you have to pay for them.

I don't want to speak for him. I also hate store bought tomatoes. But I think he was referring to the fact that even at its worst, it is still better than say...a twinky.
