Ok, the beans have sprouted. Looking good. How long should I allow them to grow before knowing if the manure is ok?

Two to three weeks, until 3 sets of leaves appear. By then you
should see tell-tale differences between plants planted in the
manure amended mix that you are testing and control plants
that are planted in just potting soil, container mix, dirt, etc,
if the manure or compost is contaminated.

This guide to testing uses peas for the test, but the timing with
beans and maturity of the plants before drawing conclusions
will be the same: http://whatcom.wsu.edu/ag/aminopyralid/bioassay.html

I have 3 sets if real leaves. 6 out of 6 in the manure germinated 2 did not fare well - weak and spindly. The control 3 out of 6 germinated. And those 3 look good. I think the manure is good. The 4 that are well are thriving with no symptoms.
