Snow here on May1. I am putting a lot of faith in my water walls.

I hope the wall o waters works out and keeps your tomatoes warm and toasty, sodak! I saw them at Marshall grain, I may give them a try next year and see how the work with containers.

Geez! Snow? That stinks. Here is sunny Western NY, it's been 70's and low 80's during the day and it looks like it's gonna stay that way through the end of next week. Night temps in the 50's mostly. The plants are loving it!

OK, May during the night, temps down to 32, 1.53 inches of rain and .5 inches of snow that was wet and heavy. Lost he apricot and peach crop this year because the blossoms got frozen off. We have snow peas ...pea sprouts covered in snow.

Delivered a hundred tomato plants to two garden centers yesterday. Hope they keep them warm for the next couple of days.

May 1 - snow all day with lows in the low 20s, so it's coming East from the Rocky Mtns. We got about 8 inches of snow that probably won't melt until the weekend.

No plants out yet, not even in WOW. This may be another year like 2011 when we didn't get to plant until Memorial Day and had to trench plant everything. Global warming? Not here at the moment.

I brought my plants inside- I couldn't put them through staying outside in the cold when they finally started blooming again due to the warm spell this week. I recruited my hubs to drag in the earthtainer- luckily he didn't throw his back out.

DFW is supposed to stay just above freezing tonight but not by much.

Good luck everyone! I hope all of our little tomato babies persevere.

Supposed to be 40 at midnight here. Not much I can do except worry - should I? I'm bringing my seedlings in, but can't bring in the plants with fruit.

What a weird, weird year.

Yeah me too. The forecast says 33 at the moment. For the last several days the forecast has been varying between 32 and 35...what has me worried is that so far this year every forecast has been wrong by 1-3 degrees.....too high! That puts me in danger of yet another frost!!!!!

Well, hopefully the weather guy is just being a pessimist again!

I'll mail y'all some seedlings if things go to worst.

I haven't been to the garden yet. I think my tomatoes and peppers are okay. The wife said it was 32 degrees when she got up at 7:00 a.m. but the wind was blowing. Frost doesn't usually form at that temp if the wind is blowing. The hibiscus plant on the front deck has all it's leafs hanging limp but it can easily replace them. The hibiscus on the back deck looks fine. A tall, thick row of trees blocks the cold air from my garden a little and has prevented cold air from reaching it many times in the past. I'll keep my fingers crossed when I head out to the garden. I have no intent of replanting again. They would just be killed by the heat if I tried to replant this late.
