Could be any of the current crosses...

& what ever else there are .. Zeiger is one mad crosser,
DWN is a good source of Zeiger cross fruit.

I don't think it's a stone fruit-the stem end looks tomato.

I think we're supposed to say peach, but it's actually a tomato.

I've been pretty certain from the beginning it was a tomato. What variety? I doubt I could identify most varieties by sight, and I'm not familiar with the new blue ones at all.

If it isn't a tomato -- then I'd say it's a different species of nightshade.

Kurt, if you have a Beautiful Dreamer tomato that looks like this...please contact me.
The seed you received was F-2 and the F-3 plus generations is where fine tuning things like flavor come to fruition.

I am leaving the mystery unsolved so that others can comment without the facts ruining things. I like all of the options folks are giving about a myriad of other fruits.

BTW, I have no idea of the flavor since I did not grow this tomato.

Tom,our season here in South Dade ended late Feb-March.The Buetiful Dreamers came with a shipment one year ago along with some Smurfs. But the reason I replied is that your inquiry and image is exactly what we ended up with. When I start my germinations come August I will look for any seeds(maybe the wife saved some)in the seed stash. The originals came with a handwritten package,no real numbers or dates for any ID.Sorry I have no more real info at this time.
