Yes, and to get back on topic ... In southern CA, check with your local independent nursery to see if they will be carrying PB plants in 2014. I know of one wholesale grower who is planning on supplying PB.

I've grown Black Cherry many times since the first time TGS offered it. But have grown the pink and purple bees just once.

And since BC was not grown in the same season as the two bees, I'm hesitant to comment, so won't since performance, taste, etc., CAN be different almost every season, at least for me where I live.

You have "Pink" and "Purple" reserved.

"Bosque" is another story.
I don't know if Bosque Blue (have), Bosque Blue Bumblebee?, and Bosque Bumblebee (have) are all one and the same.

I want to clarify about yield in my previous post. What I meant is....at any one time, I typically harvested less number of ripe fruit per plant at any one time versus SS100 or Sungold.

However, if taken into account that it is slightly larger and produced for several weeks longer, actual season yield may be very close to the above mentioned. And that was just one season...Who knows what might happen next year?

Is this Purple Bumblebee hybrid or open pollinated?
About shipping charges.

I normally buy around $50.00 worth of seeds so 4 bucks is nothing.
Unless I absolutely had to have something, (which I have) I dont buy stuff and order it that cost hardly nothing.
But that is just me.

Just yesterday I heard on the news how people were angry because UPS and FED-X fell through on deliveries.
IF these folks would have thought ahead of time and not ordered at the last minute things would have been fine.
Yes they paid extra and no it didn't happen but really, its Christmas what do you expect.

We live a pretty blessed life compared to only a few years ago.
Then.
Take pictures, take film to drugstore, get it back in a week, get copies, send to friends.
Lucky if it was less than a month.
Today I baked semolina bread and drank Australian wine took pictures sent to friends in Colorado and Pennsylvania.
It took all of 5 minutes to get comments back on the phone.

If you spend more than $30 at Johnny's they will charge you $10 for shipping, but that's probably a drop in the bucket for a rich Texan oil baron .

What kind of hybrid do you mean?
And, what kind of open pollenation do you mean, monoculture in a greenhouse with a fan and an air filter?

Hermitian,
I don’t see the point of this question in regards to this discussion unless the purpose is to needlessly ruffle some feathers.

Sorry. No ruffling intended. If you are interested, I can contact several producers and find out their method of propagation.

I have never purchased from Johnny's.

Seems odd some of the places I get things from dont charge shipping if you spend enough.
As a mater of fact they didn't charge for delivery of the new Audi R8.

Enjoy your new Audi - it is a neat car

I'm surprised to see many Americans consider their domestic shipping fees too high. Inside the EU the packaging & posting costs are way higher, so many times buying something (small or large items) from Hong Kong or the U.S. is much more cost effective.
Sending stuff inside Finland is expensive too, so those folks who prefer to do their on-line shopping inside the country, end up paying much more than those who do not mind shopping abroad... even for just a few packets of seeds.

Worth,

Purple Bumble Bee is open pollinated (true-breeding).
