MartinM thats a great idea especially the flyer in the box. People love back stories. The ferry building in Sf is one of those places that everyone should experience at least once. I love the Hog Island Oyster company. Their oyster farm on tomales bay just north of you is also awesome. You ever been?

Yeah its pretty much farmers market straight to your door. But for a nominal fee of course.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a great idea. You pay a fixed price and receive produce at the farm's discretion every week for, say, 12 weeks. You can buy into a half share (half box) or full share (full box). If I did not have a decent-sized garden this year, I would have absolutely joined up.

Here's my local one, although registration closed June 1st.

We have one in town that works off of "Farm Bucks." You buy Farm Bucks (full or half amount) at the start of the season and they open an account for you. Then each week you visit the online store to see what's available, place you order, pay from your Farm Buck account, and they will package up your purchases and have your order ready for pick up. During the pick up times they also open their farm stand to sell off the rest of the day's harvest, and Farm Bucks can also be used to shop at the farm stand. I joined for the first time this year to give it a try because of the flexibility. Sounds like a logistical nightmare for the farmer, but so far she seems to be making it work.

Been to all 3 locations- Napa Oxbow

My wife and I love the grilled BBQ oysters at Hog Island @Tomales Bay. The first time we ever went, I think my wife and I ate almost $200 of them. Ok may not that much --- but at almost $4 -$5 each they were still crazy good. Sitting outside in the sun overlooking the bay sipping some wine and crusty bread. Great experience everyone should do.

For sure then you have probably also been to the tomales bay oyster company. Its just as good but a little less dressy. Both are great places to kill the afternoon/evening.
