Darlette, not a problem at all if you're growing a NOT true RB and it does look great, just like the picture in the TGS catalog.
But it is important to know it's not RB in case you wanted to save seeds to share with others and did call it true RB. Someone in an above post asked if it was known what the two none RB's were. All I can say is that the PL RB was widely distributed by Seeds by Design and several other places offered the same PL RB but I think most have now deleted it. And no, no one knows what the PL RB is or even the RL not RB. Least of all Seeds by Design. Linda no longer deals with SBD as far as I know, re subcontracts. And I'll just note that the press run for the 2007 TGS catalog is this coming week in Illinois.

carolyn...
I did give a couple of the pseudo-Red BW to my girlfriend who also gardens. I've now labelled that particular envelope of seeds... Mystery 'Maters.

I picked these yesterday... There was a threat of bugs/pests/birds getting ahold of 'em. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Darlette.....Great pictures..first off.
Both of those fruits look Tantalizing...))) Whats so Strange...is the fluted/ribbed appearance of the Red fruit in the foreground and the entirely different characteristics of the fruit in the rear-ground. The fruit in the rear-ground resembles to a T...a Buck's County fruit, ripe enough to pick, but better left alone for another day. It's color...is dead -on...a Buck's County . The fruit...in the foreground...i got no Idea...and await...further comment...))) it sho Is Tasty-lookin...)))

And no, I'm not saying that at all. If you go back up and read you'll also see that I said she's leaving it the way it is since that's how she received the seeds from Seeds by Design and she's found that many folks Do like both varieties even tho neither is Red Brandywine. If you want to find someone who is benefiting from all of this in the long run, money-wise, then maybe best to target Seeds by Design who sent her the wrong seeds labelled wrongly. And to repeat, she lists them as received b'c over time many folks have liked BOTH of them and expect to see them listed that way. Is this a cut and dried situation and would everone agree with the listing? No, and I admit I'm one of them, but then I tend to be a purist in these matters and I do see and accept her point of view and I would hope that you could as well. She is not trying to hoodwink anyone and make a profit off of anyone. If you knew her you'd know that she is not capable of doing that. And if you read the thread in the Seed Source section that should be enough to convince you that she's not that kind of person. And she did go out and get the real RB from Landis and lists that one as well.

Gimme3... I'm glad you noticed that. ALL the rest of the fruit on this plant are smaller and shaped like that 2nd tomato in the background. BTW... I met a friend for breakfast and shared that background tomato with him. His 1st inclination was to reach for the salt shaker but I stopped him. I told him: that's what you have to do with store-bought tomatoes. These are home garden-grown and the flavor is superb on their own. He agreed.
