Thanks to all of you...I am going to do 35/40 then do soil sample again late fall. Do you think I can still do garden in this area this year with hopes of success?

Yes. you can always spot check the pH during the growing season, but as long as there is some calcium carbonate residual in the soil, your roots will find it.

Mine is foaming like a root beer. You can take more soil in a jar and mix up some baking soda and put in in the soil. If it foams you are below 7. This is just a helpful guide so you can at least know where you are at. I often wondered why this garden soil I bought was this way.
