I'm in the 4 foot club, and yes they are VERY early for me. I've been growing them for about 3 years with very similar stature and yield. This year I started Stupice seeds from a package received in this years swap , perhaps it will be the taller variety. I can't imagine a different plant. Stupice is like an old reliable friend.

Vladimir, I apologize if it's been asked before. How would you pronounce Stupice?
Met a Czech lady at the store and tried to ask her this question but it seems it is not even a Czech word after all Thanks!

According to Jeff Casey's site - "This Czechoslovak variety is pronounced as stew-pii-sa."

And according to Kees Sahin, former owner of Sahin Seeds in the Netherlands and whom I knew very well, Kees is now deceased, and Kees was Czech, it was pronounced Stoo peech ka, my phonetic spelling from listening to him on the phone.
He also knew Milan Sodomka as well, who was Czech, who was the one who first brought Stupice/Stupika to the US. Most but not all above was written in my heirloom tomato book, Carolyn

I want to try Stupice next year. Does anyone have seeds that they will swap for another variety that I have?

We liked them and they were very productive. I mostly used them in sauce because we had sooooo many tomatoes at the time. Ginny |
