We got ours from a friend who ordered from totally tomatoes this year. Have 10 in the garden. It will be interesting to see if they are all the same. I hopr they are larger than sungold, I don't like picking tiny tomatoes.

Sungold is still worth picking no matter how small they are. I did notice though, that the amish gold smells like sungold.

I think they should assign Social Security Numbers for tomatoes.
The naming convention is very mish mash ..
Some of the names sound too personal : Aunt Rubbies , uncle Dick's ...

So you want to get the Feds involved? I think not.

But let me tell you about your Aunt Rubbies, better known as Aunt Ruby's German Green

First, Tania's page for it which will save me some typing:

http://t.tatianastomatobase.com:88/w...s_German_Green

Quite a few years ago I was at SSE in Decorah, IA asked to give a talk about heirloom tomatoes, what a surprise, and Bill Minkey was there and introduced me to to Aunt Ruby's niece.

She asked me if I would write something on the page in my book that featured the variety Aunt Ruby, I did, and she broke down in tears, sobbing and sobbing. Then I started tearing up when she told me her Aunt Ruby had passed away just a short time ago.

So yes, there are many varieties that are named after real persons, and IMO they should be, whether it's Granny Cantrell,Crnkovic Yugoslavian, Omar's Lebanese and hundreds more.

Has anybody got seeds for 567-987-99088?
I can trade 665-776-3094 for them.

Worth I looked through my seeds binder and couldn't find any 567-987-99088's. Fresh out, but I'm developing a new tomato called, "Tommy Tutone" I asked the feds for a SS number for it - and they sent back, "867-5309" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WTdTwcmxyo
