I like whole grain bread and Duke's on mine, as well. I put lettuce on, too, if I have it available. Lots of salt and pepper.

My Wife and Sister both had one from my Glacier tomatoes (several fused and produced baseball sized fruits) they both said they were fantastic. It did taste good for an early determinate but nothing like a good beefsteak.

I'm eating one right now. Toasted bread, Duke's, Cherokee Purple, salt. Mm-mm good!

Never had Dukes mayonnaise but heard it mentioned on one of my favorite cooking shows as the best mayo ever.

You live in the south you should be able to get it, it is the very best.
There was an imported German Mayo that was better but the store stopped carrying it a few years ago.
The McCormick Lime is good too.

Wal-Mart and Dollar General recently started stocking it here. I have been hearing about it for years. It is GOOD! I don't even want Hellmann's anymore.

Duke's is made in Richmond so we have it all over here. I like it because there isn't any sugar in it and it's not sweet.

When tomatoes are not in season, Ill skip it and enjoy a plain mayo sandwich. But never on white bread, only wheat.

Yes, Whole Wheat and Miracle Whip and pepper.Pile the tomatoes up so high, you have to take it outside to eat it lol.Cup it in both hands so the tomatoes will not slide out and when you are finished you have tomato juice running off your chin and elbows.Doesn't get any better

I like some tasty beefsteak, sliced thin on a thick home made burger w/ red onions, mayo and freshly made mustard (Chinese style), .. all on a big toasted crisp bun.

Ahhh yes, tomato sandwiches.... A staple in my house and one of my favorite reasons to grow tomatoes. Toasted bread, a thick slice of tomato with a little salt and pepper, vegenaise (see below) and perhaps some fresh oregano from the garden if I'm feeling adventurous.

Also, though I certainly do not eat even remotely vegan, I have found I really prefer the taste of this product called "Vegenaise" made with grape-seed oil to regularl mayo (find it in your local health food or grocery store). Trust me, try it on your next tomato sandwich and you won't be disappointed. Plus, it's filled with mono and poly-unsaturated fats which many argue are a bit healthier compared to all the saturated fat found in most regular mayo. I guess that makes me feel a little better when I'm smoking a pork butt or some ribs for dinner

Apart from eating slices of flavorful tomatoes with a little salt and pepper, this is my favorite fresh garden tomato meal or snack!

I can proudly say that I have never bought whole wheat bread in my life, I have ate it and found it as tasteful as a cardboard box.

What I can't believe is the amount of people that don't eat real bisquits and gravy, with several slices of tomato and bacon on the side. Can't live forever and eating terrible tasting food will not help in that regard at all! I can't help but throw a piece of processed bologna and mustard on my tomato sandwiches. Greatest thing ever!

Dukes is my favorite mayonnaise. I find it tastes very closely to homemade mayonnaise.

Love tomatoes with gravy for breakfast. Also love the Bologna and mustard sandwich Tim76 mentioned. Tomato gravy is wonderful.
