You sure can take your time with anything for me- it won't be going in until next spring time planting. So there is plenty of time to get some of the seed to me. Make me dead last if need be, it will all be good.
I just appreciate the offer being made. |

Scott, what is the name of this small town near Kishinev? I have some tomato friends in Moldova so they may make it clear.
Normally it is quite unusual for a major of any town to know local tomato varieties))) What was written on this package?) And what kind of package it was?) Quote:

The town is Cricova, and it is the site of the longest caverns in Europe used for wine storage.
The mayor is a gardener with a green house. The package was just a plastic wrap. No origin or import information. Igor is the name of his son, who is my employee, and so that is why I am calling it Striped Igor. Last edited by ScottinAtlanta; July 4, 2016 at 01:51 AM. |

Yes, I know Cricova and have tasted their usual and sparkling wines.
We imported them here in Belarus. Cricova wine cellars of more than 100 km long is like an underground town. But anyway I need your info about a package of this tomato. If they grow it locally there can be a high chance somebody bought these imported tomatoes in a local supermarket like you, saved the seeds and grew out.

That's very probably Cookie F1. Taste is described as being acidic, and texture as pretty crunchy.
I know for sure that in Romania, even small time farmers with a few hundreds plants grow mostly hybrids for commercial sale. For farmer's market, local small shops. The ones in supermarkets are all 100% hybrids for sure. |

It sure does look like Cookie F1. If it is Cookie, I have the dehybridized version. Mine grew true to the ones I bought in Chisinau.
