At this rate we'll be talking about tuning up the snow blowers. I hope we don't just jump to hot. I miss when we go from cool spring temps to summer heat.

My kids came running inside screaming because it was snowing out this morning. It's actually our typical "frost free" date today, and it's spitting snow. But, it's going to start warming up after tonight

In our neck of the woods (PNW) we don't get a lot of surprises.
Rain and cloudiness is the way of life . No storms, no heavy winds, no heavy rain.
Today is lightly raining (drizzling). High of 61F, low of 45F. Almost the same tomorrow. This is about May average ( 48 to 64F)

38-39 degrees for the low, last night... Any tomatoes/peppers that were blooming yesterday, aren't today.

I'm still pinching blossoms off about half my plants, anyway, as I trellis them. It's going to be cold and wet the rest of the week. I've still got 400' of row to trellis, so I'm looking on the bright side, cold weather and slow growth gives me more time.

We got snow whiteouts on Sunday and at least one major sleet blizzard. I'm glad I had frost blankets. We got frost and 31F early Monday morning. I took the frost wrappers off the plants on Monday afternoon when the temp hit 65. All plants look unfazed. :-)

My potatoes took a hit during last cold. Only 1 tomato in WOW got tip burned, it was too tall and was touching tops too much. I think one more night of cold weather. Gotta hill my potatoes some more.

35.4F low temp at my house with a light frost on everything. Buckets and towels did the trick, close to 53F already @ 8am.

We had 36 at the house Monday morning, but out in the field, my potatoes and broccoli told a different story.
At first I thought my potatoes had late blight, but then I saw the burn on the broccoli in the same row and realized it got frosted.
I also recalled seeing frost on the roof of some sheds on the way to work monday morning.

Wow, most of us are dealing with this huh?! Haha, I'm fighting 100 degree days and 38 degree nights here in CT myself.. The hoop house fluctuates ridiculously.. It's really time for me to get some thermostatically controlled ventilation going on in there..

I leave the end doors of my high tunnel and greenhouse open most of the time when it is sunny. I only close them for high winds or storms. At night, they are going to drop to the outside temp, anyway, sometimes even lower than outside. So the doors being open does not make much of a difference.

Yea I've come to see the same.. It's just a shame as the night temps almost negate the benefits of a high tunnel, besides the decrease in foliar disease.. I'll be moving in a year or so and when I finally settle in I'm going to frame out the doors and install a few gable end fans..

Any part of a plant that was touching metal... Cage or the 1 gallon can around it were slightly damaged from the cold. I think tomatoes are really going to taste good , this year... We will see.

Dude, I need your guy's help identifying something. I will try and get a pic.
There is this HUGE yellowy/reddish/orange thing hovering low in the sky this morning. It is out towards the east. It causes me to squint when I look at it.
Any thoughts on what it could be?
