Been driving through high water in places that have hardly ever been wet before. My tomato patch is starting to look like gray mold flotsam on a cranberry bog.

Yikes Robert, I hate to see your beautiful garden flooded.

This is Byron Stewart Park today in the picture. It is beside the Nolan river - now it's part of the river. There's a road under all that water. The lake it feeds (Pat Cleburne) was built in 1964. I was born 1965, and today's flood is the worst I've seen there.

We counted 7 closed roads ourselves. The news says there are 70 closed roads in Johnson County. The National Guard had two large trucks blocking off one of the roads.

I have no idea what is going on outside my yard area.
The TV still hasn't been on.

What a mess for you all. Are you flooded out folks able to get to stores to get food? Are trucks even able to get food to stores and what about meds for those that need them. Will somebody bring them out to you?

We had 9.5 inches yesterday evening and last night, and another 3.25 inches today so far. This is on top of all the rain we had last weekend. There is going to be some serious flooding here.

Yowza all I can hope for is a respite. Stop raining for a bit, already! You guys have more than made up for the years of drought.

This is typical Texas weather. It isn't cliché or a tall tale here. When the daily average high temperature is 88F like today's was - that means in years past, it was 70 several times on June 2 - and 100 on other June 2 days. Today, officially, it was 72F.

In the DFW metroplex, I'm pretty sure it has only reached 90F once or twice this year - which is VERY weird. In May, there were 24 days of measurable precipitation - that is a new record. It's another odd year - even for Texas.

We watch the news daily about the floods and it sure looks bad. I wonder as I watch if any of you members are in the midst of it, and what you are doing. Of course I worry about your gardens, but then I tell myself the gardens are the least of your worries when everything is under water. I hope the rains stop soon. Keep safe.

Wow,I was shocked and saddened by the death of three soldiers and many more missing. I wonder why they hadn't closed the low crossing roads like they always did on Fort Sill with flooding possibility?
