I've really only grown and tasted one, Indigo Kumquat F1, and only had a few tomatoes (small grape size), but they were sweet and pretty. Backyard is too shady for tomatoes...

I'm also growing Blue Chocolate (in the sunny community garden), but so far no ripe ones! I did plant late, but it seems to be taking forever for one to get ripe.

I've tasted some of Brad's. The taste is pretty good and I'd grow them if I had much more space, but I don't think I have room for more than a couple anthos each year.

Default Painted Pink

This is the Painted Pink I grew from J and L gardens this year, it's not a bad tomato but wasn't in the best place to get the most sun. I did get some antho fruit though..

Yah, I keep arguing with myself about leaving the tomato skins and seeds in, then, when I check google, I find that those things contain lots of vitamins......so blender it is.

I got Dancing with Smurf's seed from you and they are still producing tomatoes, all the rest of my 140 plants are pretty much dead. 2 Matts Wild Cherry plants are still producing also.

Cool, good to hear. Dancing with Smurfs is a great name for selling plants. I found that they got smashed in my boxes too easily, so I switched to Fahrenheit Blues as my antho red in my cherry mix for market.

I just now found an interesting article about antho tomatoes:

Anthocyanins Double the Shelf Life of Tomatoes by Delaying Overripening and Reducing Susceptibility to Gray Mold

The article gets pretty technical.

Do you have pictures of Ananas Bleue? Ananas Noire is my all-time favorite tomato so I am excited about the antho version

Oakley, do you have a variety that you like the most with antho?

No favorite yet. I'm following others a couple years ahead of me in the grow/taste testing....i have room for a few to try next year.

This past season, now ending, i concentrated on an all-around cherry mix and a good variety of successful beefs, hearts, etc, that do well for me....and i must say i'm getting close having one of the best growing seasons yet. I give every variety 2-3 years. I now have a pile of 22 varieties i'm not growing next year. (so room for more to try)

My fave of this season is Lucid Gem (thanks all who shared seeds with me)! It was a gorgeous beauty! In my conditions they were not super sweet, but balanced on the sweet side with hint of nice fruity acid, still eating them. With rainy weather and fog they started to crack, but if they're not cracked, they have quite a long shelf life.

Gorgeous! Any pics of the cross slice? Googling 'image' seems to bring up differing pics of slice.
A 2015 discussion mentions other anthos. http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=39055http://http://www.tomatoville.com/sh...ad.php?t=39055

I agree that Allisa's pictures are gorgeous and do this great variety justice! It is indeed the cream of the crop as far as I am concerned when it comes to Antho tomatoes. They do last forever and grow well with few diseases. A true winner!

No favorite for me yet. I think of the blue tomatoes as decorative only.
