Canada and Nebraska have something in common...both are celebrating 150 years, Ne. as a state and Canada as a country.

Here you go Black Bear. Pretty comprehensive list of (mostly vintage) Canadian-bred tomatoes.
The Roger Doucet ones I have grown a few of those. Superbec, Canabec and Rosabec.
There has not been any Ag Canada supported breeding work to speak of for many years it seems.

Happy Canada Day weekend from the Bonavista Peninsula !!

Sailed into Placentia Bay Saturday morning. Beautiful. Calm sea.
Quoting a neighbor, "so quiet and peaceful you can hear a bird fart".

Some of us are still excited and can remember the great promise

and out look of Canada 100th (1967).

So 150 is a great time to reflect and imagine and vision...

and Maybe plant 150 Tomato varieties ........

What a diverse country we have become.

Who knows...tomorrow is the 1776 event, or 1492, or 1782 1789...
To measure this USofA proper is to go by 1776...2041 years old ?
