Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings, Robert.
You are an honest man and your writings show that. Keep on writing. I enjoy reading them.

About canned tomato confession : What ?
I have jarred over 10 gallons of sauce and tomato juice ( 40 quarts ).
Mine is better than store brands. I make them from the best heirloom/OP tomatoes that I have come to know
Confession : I am biased.

Salt I have a confession to make.
I have no idea why I am here.
I don't collect seeds nor am I a tomato nut like so many others here.
Bothers the hell out of me sometimes, it really does.

Worth, you like gardening. So what if you don't save seeds and mail them to others. I personally want my reply to end there, but:

I could write all day long on all the positive things you mean to this site, and what it means to you to be here.

After thinking about it, I realized that I check in here not because of tomatoes, garden tips, or sauce recipes: I think I just enjoy hanging out with some new friends, who make fighting the battle of life just a little bit easier. I think this is why you are here too, Salt.

I could be in a bowling league, play cards with cigar chomping buddies, play bingo- nope, hang out on the Tomato forums and see what's going on in the gardens of true Americana.....

Spartanburg, what you wrote is a huge reason. I'm the same way, I would rather read things here than talking about working on old cars, bingo isn't going to happen, and my supposed old buddies talking about women as if they were property makes me sick.

I don't get out in public much due to disability. It is often worse than what I make it out to be - especially this past 30 days. I've had to stay inside on days of coolest August I can remember. I'm seeing my doctor about it tomorrow morning.

Gardening is quiet and I enjoy it. Tomatoes are one of my favorite things to grow. I found this site, lurked here for a while before joining and have learned so much since joining. Yes, learning about tomato and other gardening is fun. But I've learned a lot more from people living in areas that I'll never get to visit. Areas way different from my neck of the woods in Texas.

The quiet is why I do it too, Salt. That and for the fresh food...

I hope your doc can give you some relief or direction.

I think everyone brings something important to this community, and it IS a community. Honestly, I am not sure I would have survived the last months after Rob's death with out all of you listening and being supportive, sharing yourselves and your own life's experiences.

Ya'll did not let me sink, even now.

So, if there is a way, by listening or doing what ever I can do, to help some one else, that is a small tiny drop in return. And I think that is what we all do for each other.

Ah, TV™. Social media for people who don't do social media.
