BAG is definitely wispy. In fact, that's only thing I dislike about it, since as a cherry it doesn't seems robust that many others that I grow. Last edited by Scooty; August 4, 2019 at 07:12 PM. Reason: grammar |

The ones on the left are ripe. And delicious. So much flavour in a small fruit.

The larger selection of BAG called Atomic Fusion will be interesting to try. Brad's work also.

BAG is the only green I've enjoyed. If AF actually like BAG, it'll be a regular returnee. Is it really just a larger selection of BAG or is Atomic Fusion a cross?

I'm growing BAG for the 1st time- my plant has quite wispy foliage and isn't very big. There are several clusters if fruit, but not a sign of ripening. They are over 2" long- way too big for grapes!

I have two plants, first time this year. They pretty much stopped growing at around 5 feet (but some other varieties did too, probably hot weather). Very wispy. But they are ripening well, slowly, but well. Nice taste. Fruits between 1.5 and 2.5 inches.
This is a picture from mid June. |

Trying these for the first time. Mine look green, dark purplish at one end like these. Can anyone post a picture of them when fully, perfect eating ripe? Should have paid more attention, I didn't realize they were not red grapes, which is what I was looking for. But who knows, I might love them when I learn to tell they are ripe enough to eat.
Sorry, I just saw the picture from GrowingCoastal. Will the dark purple ones on the lower right turn more reddish brown like the ones on the upper left when they are ripe? Last edited by SueCT; August 6, 2019 at 02:19 AM. |

Mine looked a whole lot like yours. The egg shaped along with slightly fluted looking ones. They taste good. Eat them soon after picking them (A day or two). The wispy foliage can benefit from something blocking straighline wind. Other than that - it seems pretty hardy.

Sue, On BAG, I only get a splash of red when ready; probably my hot and humid climate and perhaps growing in a container. Also, BAG's don't get taller than 5' for me either; but also much later than any other cherry / small size fruit. |

On the "can't tell when they're ripe" issue, has anyone else noticed that the ripe ones are notably duller, unshiney, than the unripe ones? That's my first clue.

these are slightly riper than the last pic posted by me ........
perhaps another ripe test might be the colour under the sepal (if you re willing to sacrifice one fruit) I've also included a pic of the sliced fruit this taste testing was equally good, sweet/savoury, although I think perhaps a wee bit over as the texture was edging toward too soft regardless - one to grow again next year - this plant was grown in my community garden, although most of my tomatoes I grow in 5 gal containers here at home [IMG]http://tomatoville.com/attachment.php?
