Have been watching my first blushing Stupice tomato turn red over the past few days, I believe I will pick it tomorrow on July 1st. The plant was set out on June 1st, seeds started indoors the last week of March. Can't wait to taste it! But no others are blushing yet. The very largest sized green fruit is on an Azoychka. And surprisingly, a very short Black Sea Man plant has two large greenies almost the size of the Azoychka.

Ate a Stupice Rane day before yesterday and 2 Kimberley today...Plants and fruit are indistinguishable to me...I have 2 of each and they are not going to have any others for awhile...I have a Siberian Pink that should be next and it is loaded, as is Slava and Aurora...Aurora has beautiful ,larger fruit and I can't wait for those...

dcarch, that's great for your zone for a ripe Carbon! Do you think it's so early because of your removable lean-to greenhouse set up? How much time do you think you gained?

We ate my first yesterday. A Rutgers that was not very good at all. But I think I ate it a day or two too early. I've had several Sungolds and the first of those weren't very good either, but the last few have simply been amazing.
I should have more Rutgers and a couple Jet Stars before the 4th. I have a Ch. Purple starting to color up a bit. I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks in the garden. |

Yesterday I got 2 ripe Matinnas and one ripe Latah, both very early tomatoes and I started the seeds early. Had clear plastic pails available to cover them if it got too cold. But I didn't have to use them.
By the way, they were absolutely delicious, so much better than the store tomatoes we have been getting. This is the earliest I have had maters ripen here in NJ. We usually try to aim for July 4th but i never make it. Regards............Doris, NJ |

This year, with a new approach I was able to get Carbon, Black Prince, and Ananas Noire, mostly late season maters one week before 7/4. Early season ones I got a month before. dcarch

I have ripe tomatoes as of today from Moskvich, Ugly and New Yorker. I'm still waiting on 6 more varieties. They are 1 to 3 weeks away.

Opa's liebling: very high production, taste is a bit mealy but lots of tomato flavour, long production up to the first frosts,healthy plants, tomatoes weighing up to 100 grammes;
Fruehe Liebe,: very early tomato, moderate production , good tast, tomatoes up to 150 grms.; Black Iceberg or black aisberg: good tasting dark red tomatoes , 250 grms., good production, some cracking in humid conditions; manwhile the next ones to ripen off are anastacia and fandango, my favourite rose de berne isd slowly colouring but the weather is awful for tomatoes, Frank |

My next two to ripen were Nyagous and Green Moldovan. This was my first green-when-ripe to taste, and I didn't care for it...
