My Ping Tung is a little longer and slimmer, but the color is almost identical (to the photo).

I also had no idea about how "touchy" eggies are with wind and
rain: I had a number of blossoms that were knocked off due to
weather related conditions ...

Ichiban hybrid eggplant does well down here, it's productive, sweet and tender, my favorite for the last few years, beautiful blooms
