So far just cherries for me. I have some Dr. Neals and some New Zealand Pear that should be ready by the end of the week. Luckily, my SIL and my MIL have sent me a Black from Tula, a Pineapple and an Old Virginia to tide me over.

Just "Bloody Butcher" (fully ripe) & Yellow Submarine (blushing) for me.
I'm glad I went with Bloody Butcher (PL. early, semi-det.); it was a last minute addition ! BB is loaded with tomatoes ...

Been eating for awhile, Mano and Lime Green Salad. Just had cherries Mexico Midget, Galina's Yellow, Black Cherry, Peruvian Bush [red cherry], and last cherry but the best so far, Dr. Carolyn. Main season types to just ripen are Paul Robeson, Maiden's Kiss, and Pink Berkeley Tie Dye.

I finally picked my first Stupice. Can not wait to taste it, but I willed myself to wait at least one day while it is coloring to deep red on my windowsill.

My Burpee 4th of July variety are starting to kick it into high gear. The first ones were picked on 7/10 (close enough!) and I've picked nearly a dozen since then. However, they are only golfball-sized so far! The newer fruits appear to be only slightly larger than that.

Finally got 1 ripe Kimberly and 1 ripe fruit from the Silvery Fir Tree volunteer today.
All 26? 28? plants have either small green toms or at least blossoms!
Some do not receive enough sun or else are in 5 gallon grow bags in full sun. And got a late start in planting out, so, no complaints here!

I picked my first 2 tomatoes yesterday. I think that is one of m earliest here in PA.

I picked 2 Husky Cherry, which was probably my least looked forward to plant. You know what, they were actually one of the better cherry tomatoes, I have ever had. I prefer Sweet Baby Girl and Black Cherry, but this is good. Highly unexpected.

First day back from vacationing in Villa Rica, GA.....of course couldn't wait to check out the garden! First to ripen,
Orange Santa and Sweet Thing Grape for the cherries and Burzstyn for salad size. What a great feeling to have tomatoes before August!! Patty

I have had a number of cherry and grape tomatoes ripen so far. Today I got my first slicer to ripen, a Big Beef that I planted on May 8th. Had it sliced on a chicken salad sandwich for lunch and it was deee-licious.

One of my Cherokee Purples is loaded and ripening, so too with my Boris and Goliath. Just a few days more for all of them to ripen.

Pasture, Sun Sugar, Nicki, Golden Queen, and Garden Pearl..........all my small tomatoes have been producing very nicely.

Had a small Big Beef last night - cut out the BER spot.
Pretty good. For two long torturing weeks I have been
waiting on a very large German Johnson - she has turned
very light green - two weeks ago - and just sits there -
teasing me - oh here she comes again. Same with 3 black
krims - just teasing me! At this rate, the Jet Stars will
ripen first. All are setting quite well but birds are
plucking off the flowers at the tops of some plants.
Cherokee purple should come along in the next week as well
as some cherries. Dr. C is setting well. Old German (see
earlier post) is the one not setting and she could be
in the compost pile in a few weeks. Happy growing - piegirl

This weekend picked two 5 ounce Early Rouge tomatoes and a single Fox Cherry. Ashleigh is turning red, but everything else is green but growing.

Edit: Overlooked a completely ripe Cherokee Purple...14 oz of sweetness. Another CP will be picked tomorrow and a German Red Strawberry is almost ready. So now my season begins for real.

By now I've been able to try a couple of the larger ones. I like Dr. Neal a lot. Sweet but not in a mild way. Today I tried New Zealand Pear. Quite juicy for a plum shaped tomato. Nice balanced flavor and very pretty fruit. Almost no blemishes at all.
