Ami-Sorry, didnt see your earlier post.
I used 4 of them to germinate 4 varieties and they are planted in 15 gallon grow bags from groworganic.com. They are marketed as breaking down after 2 or 3 weeks in soil, and I hope they do so. I guess we will see. So far, they are looking very good in the grow bags. I will post a photo of them this weekend.

I like these cowpots-they dont get soaked when you bottom water and they dont break down until you plant. the one that is quite wet is a rosemary plant that I cloned and I want it wetter to root. I started these seedlings one week ago today in a parks bio-dome, and transplanted them today into the cowpots.

Michael, so you are exclusively bottom watering your cow pots at this stage, is that correct. Keep the updates a-commin and thanks. Ami

Ami-Yes, only bottom watering. I also put a very teeny bit of zeba in with the container mix to make sure the cowpots dont dry out too fast.

That's interesting stuff [Zeba.] I wonder if Bentonite (a clay used for sealing leaking ponds) would do a similar job?

I used zeba last year in my containers, and also am using it in the greenhouse this winter. Good stuff.

I'm using some cow pots this year for the 1st time too. Some of them have white fuzzy mold growing on them--will it hurt the seedlings? So far they are growing fine & look healthy. thanks!

K-sorry no one replied to your post-I just saw it. I dont think you have any problem. Any chance you are watering too much? If so, you might want to let them dry out a little.
Here are some photos of cowpots in action.

Here is Lime Green Salad on the left, started in a cowpot, trasplanted about 30 days ago, getting ready to fruit. The one on the right is Pearly Pink Orange, fruited already at about 25 days.

I ordered 300 and will see how they work this year. It was as cheap for me to buy 300 4" pots for $112.00 as it was too buy a smaller amount elsewhere. So they had better work. Jay

mdvpc, tomatoaddict, Michael and Terry. How about an update on how the CowPots/PooPots are doing. I'll be planting my seedlings into them probably this weekend. Ami

I love my poopots Ami. It's going to make planting in the garden so easy this year. No ripping off the bottom of the peat pot.
Mine have held up really well too.
