yep! 6.00. the last one I found was a mirro and I gave it to a friend. I will keep this one. I was even there just to look for a couple shirts for her boys... not even stopping for me just to take a spin through there. it was the only thing I bought. nothing else caught my eye.

Done for the night, 21 quarts of chicken breasts put up, 7 each of Italian seasoned, 7 of the same but lighter on all except the basil, and the last 8 with seasonings of the usual plus hungarian paprika and some mixed color peppercorns as a start to chicken paprika.

Tomorrow, shall re-arrange some shelves so I have more room to store the last 21 jars, after washing and labeling them. Tired now, LOL, grocery cart this morning for shopping, another dash to another store to get some things, canning and cleaning. Still have a couple packs of chicken thighs to do but probably will get those done Thursday, maybe marinated mushrooms tomorrow.

Just a little put out someone can find a 915 for that price even if I like them.
No way in the world could I find a deal like that here but I keep looking.

One word of caution and I know many people know this but be careful on herbs when canning meat.
I have heard and read several times but not experienced that sage gets real nasty when canned.
I heard it turned real bitter.

i second it on the sage! even in breakfast sausage i make and freeze, if kept too long in freezer it becomes really strong tasting, i usually go with half the amount, in canning you can always add that later when heating it up. ---tom

I know Worth. I would be a tad bit jealous of I saw someone else's find like that.. obviously the workers at that Goodwill had no clue. It hardly looks like it was used. Maybe a couple of times
All the parts were there too including the manual. To say I was shocked to see it was a bit of an understatement. I didn't hesitate to snag it right up. I don't think I have ever seen such a deal.
Thanks imp and zana.

I doubt if I ever find another one at that price.

The last one I saw on Craig's list was 100 dollars and a 200 mile round trip.

That was such a deal, I would have carried it right to the register and had them ring it up!! I paid $149.00 for the same size one that I am using currently and I thought that was good, your deal is terrific. I am just loving mine.

I did. I was driving through to pick up pizza. not much time to waste but that was worth the walk over to the miscellaneous junk section. I loan my most of my canners out to friends who don't own one but this won't be one of them and sometimes I just give them to those who I know will use one over and over. I have one right now I gave away to a friend the last time she was here but I was using it at the moment so she needs to come back and get it. I told her I would show her how to can meat when she came the next time and she can take the canner home with her then.

don't can BBQ sauce with your meat either. the sugar gets too hot and crystallizes. makes for mighty chewy meat.... speaking from experience. it doesn't work.

Candied BBQ.
Never thought about it but 240F would be way too hot for sugar.
