Mine are just growing buds. No flowers yet.
I fertilized them about a week ago. And then they really took off.

I look at these plants every day closely.
I never saw that bloom open up I have no idea how it made a pod.
The only thing I can think of is a bat pollinated at night.
That or the pod is going to fall off which I doubt.

I got home today and one of my tubs that had water in the tube was,-- well the tube was empty.
The tub with the peppers in it.
Sucked up about two inches of water.

Got one watermelon vine attached to the trellis and I see wee flower buds forming.
If any make they will be way late.
Same with any of the other melons.
If I do get a watermelon growing on the trellis I have no idea how I am going to support a thirty pound watermelon.
Yet.
Maybe a watermelon cradle.
But that is a long ways off.
Still getting fantastic fruit set on the tomato plants and each night my smelly work clothes get hung up on the cages.
Also pouring urine around the area.
My biggest mortgage lifter has a smelly sock on it.

Oh yes the vitex tree next to the garden is just loaded with all types of bees.
Are bees attracted to smell or color or both.
I have an idea.

I think they are attracted to smell over color. And anything sweet. They like eating from our hummingbird feeders.

The plants they hang out on have blooms that smell nice.
Thinking of spritzing some vines with a little perfume if the bees ignore the blooms.

When I was young, I remember an Avon perfume that smelled like 'Honeysuckle'. After looking it up - that's what it was called. What I've looked up says it's retro which probably means they don't make it anymore. I know that honeysuckle will draw bees to it.

(I can't believe I just looked up women's perfume )

Retro is the new style of older stuff.
The in thing now.
Triumph makes a whole line of modern retro motorcycles.
I have always bought my wife the most expensive perfumes I could afford.
What I need is what they call toilet water in a spray bottle.
Thinking lavender.

It isn't going to feel right buying the cheap stuff.

Also thinking about mammoth size nylons for watermelon hangers.
That will be a wee bit uncomfortable.

My ML is ok but I have much better producing varieties like IS PL, Pruden's Purple, Brandy Boy, Stupice , Big Rainbow, Big Beef.. Sungold, and few more. .
The okras are exploding. Hard to tell if some of the new growth are side branches or buds.
Corn have been silking. I can't pick cucumbers fast enough. They love recent cool weather. Sugar Babies have lots of babies
