If I had another pressure canner in the house people would think something fishy was going on.

I have looked and looked at the All Americans for a very long time.
They are very proud of the new/used ones down here.

Al I can see is 274 dollars at walmart for the 915 and it says they are out of stock.

I still cant wrap my mind around how someone can find a 915 for 6 dollars.

But I did have someone just drive up and drop a rusty 1947 wood lathe off in my driveway some time ago.
He told me not to worry about paying him the 100 bucks because he just wanted to see it get restored and get rid of it.
I also have several hundred dollars worth of carbide lathe tool bits some place someone gave me.
He had no idea what they were for but I darn sure did.

I bet someone said 60 dollars and they mistook it for 6 dollars.

maybe and it is my gain... not really their loss as they had NOTHING invested in it to begin with. and once again it did a mighty fine job at canning applesauce and tomato vegetable juice this week. I put one bhut jolakia pepper in the batch and it was mighty peppy.

I dont stutter I said 60 dollars dont ask me again, what are you hard of hearing?

Yeah... mighty peppy but the pepper I licked last night made me want to puke after a couple of moments. it was really hot to me. want me to send you some if they are still good. We were cleaning up the garden and I laid the plants to the side and it is in the 30's now, but I don't think they are frozen.

I can take them but I have to be very careful in my planning for planting stuff.
I have to have room for my containers and experiments.
The darn doe is back and it is still 6 days from deer season.

We canned pumpkin yesterday. When the jars were cooling down and we were hearing many pings and pops one of them exploded. I'm thinking the most likely cause was there was something wrong with the jar. What do y'all think and any other reasons it might have exploded, please?

I agree on the jar having a defect. could have been a scratch or a bubble in the glass. too much temp variation perhaps or the jar was too full. as the contents expend they have to go somewhere if it is too full. I filled a jar for the freezer too full thinking I had left enough head room, but I didn't. same goes for applesauce when I am canning. if it is thick sauce it tends to ooze out a bit making for a mess under the ring. I need to get those off as quick as I can to avoid them drying on that way. then I have to soak them to get the ring off to put it in the cabinet. I thought I had one explode in my new canner the other day but when I opened it there was nothing wrong.
