Isn't Gary Great!
He boggles my mind at how he keeps all of us Tomatovillian's off of the streets. He has us growing plants all summer and saving seeds for the next big event. Then in winter he has us creating more ways to store tomato seeds. We spend hours upon hours researching varieties. Then we get to contemplate our grow lists at least 10-15 times before sowing seeds so that we can send him more seeds the following season. If not for the Swap, just think of the problems that all of us would cause the world. He keeps us so busy that there is no room for us to go bad. Now I understand why he keeps trying to attract more people to participate in the MMMM. It is for our own good and the good of the public at large. Hat's off to Gary

Staying up late to google every.single.variety that isn't familiar to me SOOO FUN! My grow list went out the window and I just might select almost all new to me varieties for this season. Some of these crosses are pretty cool! And yes- I found Isis Candy and apparently that is now on my list of cherries.... Unless someone can rec a cherry that's even sweeter? No wait- don't- bc then I might have to grow it too

AZGardener, I found Coyote to be sweeter than Isis Candy. It has a different savory flavor to it and is smaller,/currant-like and cracks easily during harvest so I had to cut off the whole cluster, like grapes It was outrageously productive for me. Isis Candy was great but not as great as Sun Gold F1 imho, though I preferred it to Coyote because Coyote was TOO sweet with no tart!

Thanks for that Jen! I have grown Coyote (years ago) and perhaps its time to grow it again? I have these big whisky barrels that I grow my cherrys in and they generally go gang busters on me... I have 4 kids so the more cherrys I grow, the more they will eat (and not pick the bigger ones before its time). Mom trick

The MMMM swap threw my start date off by a week too. Well that and not keeping my seeds organized ... scattered between 3 binders and a box... but at least they were all in the same room.

I just received a package with the "Charlie Brown at mailbox" stamp. My guess is that plenty of you have been the spittin' image of that stamp, lately. |

No mail slot here ( wouldn't have been big enough!) but my mail box is at my door, up on the porch.
Still fondling seeds and smiling and looking them up and smiling and talking to them about what a wonderful growing year it will be and smiling.... |

I bought 2 binders and some trading card keeper pages, along with some alphabet dividers, index cards and colored markers to make (hopefully) a better way for me to organize all of my seeds. I will alphabetize all of my seeds. Have an index card with the seeds name in the front and info. on the back. I will color code the cards as to the color of the variety. Between looking up all of the information needed for my new to me varieties and organizing my binders and seeds, you will be KEEPING ME OFF OF THE STREETS and making me behave for at least until the end of February. Then I have to try to decide what it is that I will be growing. After that I have to start theses seeds and tend to the plants. Before you know it I will be processing seeds all over the house. Then it is bagging and labeling for me so that I can send YOU a big large package in your mailbox to keep you busy and out of trouble during my resting spell.
