Yes, Elfie is supposed to be yellow/orange. You seem to have it right. I'm glad you posted that picture because I'll be growing it this year, as well, and I wanted to see it. They all look great!

Thanks for that confirmation, shelleybean! It's an amazing plant, too. Big and healthy and loaded with fruit.

Yes, and 'tis such a shame that he's not around here, nor Finbar with his quick wit! I used to enjoy him teasing Grub.

PS. Spatz, beautiful haul - are those some of the varieties you showed Maggie in the TV segment?

Yummm... I'm glad I just had lunch. Bruschetta!

Will you share with us later on your favourites this season? Tomatoes, eggplants and chillies!

Congrats on a great harvest coming through, Spatz.

No problems with a season report: what's hot and what's not.

Got some seeds to send you of everything but egplants, which I haven't got round to saving seeds from... we ate them all

Missouri Crimson Delight was excellent, typically tasty sweet pink.

Very nice, Grubby. You sure know how to pose 'em. My babies just went outside today to start hardening off. Soon now...

And now you've got me curious about Missouri Crimson Delight. I'm not familar with this variety, tell me more.

Hi Snoozy,

I got quite a few seeds from Honu in Hawaii, among them some labelled Missouri Crimson Delight. The whole Missouri line is, from what I understand, some breeding thing and I was told Tom Wagner worked with the project...

So maybe Tom can chime in? Tom, is this right?

I'm not finding much by Googling, with is odd. I hope it's not a misnomer. It's not Missouri Pink Love Apple, which I also grew this year, that much I can tell you.

A very nice pink, strong plant, can't comment on production due to its location, but it produces night big ones with that lovely B.Sudduth shape. And taste is tops.

Grub, who hasn't saved seeds yet

Today I won't bore you with my basket full of goodies. So no need to gnash teeth, etc.

Here's what I did with some of the tomatoes last night. I used the recipe that Mantis posted somewhere (link to recipezaar, or whatever it's called.)

Oven-roast tomatoes. They were absolutely delish. Tossed them with home-made pasta, olives and feta cheese.

Might post the picture of the end result, if I feel the need for you to start gnashing teeth, etc.

Here's the end result:

Any weeping yet?

I miss Peter also. Hopefully he'll show up one day soon. Grub, do the two of you live close enough to go fishing?
