Ground Brisket in chili Rellenos is good.
At a local restaurant, we found chili rellenos made with regular un-spiced hamburger meat - it was awful. |

When I was a little kid my dad owned a body shop off the town square. By the railroad tracks there was a tiny little cafe call Jordans. Mrs Jordan owned and ran the place. He would let me order anything I wanted so I would get a bowl of chili. The red grease would be floating on that bowl of chili and I would use crackers to soak up the grease. I must have been around 5 years old. Back in 2002 or so we were doing a job in that town and I got to see the wrecking ball knock that little cafe down. I told the guys. "See that little shack they just knocked down, I used to eat there when I was a little kid". Mrs Jordan for all intents looked just like Granny on the Silvester and Tweety Bird cartoon. The dry ground brisket will have my usual spices and some chopped onion and Monterrey Jack cheese and egg in it as a binder. Worth |

First eeewww. Yes stuffing can be nasty if not made right. Jan and I both love stuffing and dressing. I think it is just a fun to make it as it is good to eat.
We feel the same about those packs of taco seasoning. Way too much salt ruins what taste is in it. That's a big part of why we're growing so many pepper varieties this year. I like our home dried chili powder much better than the store bought stuff. Last year, I made Anaheim chili powder. The smell makes your mouth water. I also made Banana, Jalapeno, Smoked Jalapeno, and Tabasco. The Tabasco was too hot though. Last edited by AlittleSalt; June 10, 2015 at 05:06 PM. |

But I whipped this up right after your post. lemon and lime juice. 1/2 Habanero. Some fresh Jalapeno. Yellow and red tomatoes. Fresh cucumber. Onion. A pinch of vinegar. A pinch of salt. Ah Worth, finally I can say yum (sorry I'm vegetarian). But still I love reading your posts. That would have been a bit sad seeing the old cafe from your childhood getting knocked down.
