My overstuffed ravioli came today! I must admit that I shed a tear today as I flipped through over 100 seed packets. So many varieties. My entire wishlist, some that I removed from my wishlist because it was getting long, some varieties that I have never even heard of before. The number I received back far exceeds the number I sent in. Thank you everybody for your generosity, and to Gary for putting together this swap. As a beginner gardener, this has made an immeasurable impact on me and my family and friends (who I will be sharing the bounty with... I'm sure there are more seeds here than I could grow out in a lifetime!).

Thank you one and all. Feeling very lucky to be part of the Tomatoville community today.

Aw shucks, Gary - do we need to send extra postage? (seriously). Nice to know we'll soon be on postal watch as the temps are quite low at present.

All set on postage, as I used some old stamps that were donated.

But... the line behind me wasn't too pleased, as it took the postal employee several minutes to find out what the stamps were worth (an old "first class" stamp with no printed value). Then he went through all of the typing in of info... addresses, customs stuff, blah, blah, blah, ...and forgot to deduct the value of the stamps from the total shipping cost.
I didn't look back toward the growing line, during the do-over.

I am once again up on cloud nine. . . My package arrived today and I am amazed. I have participated in this swap for a few years now and I am always amazed not just at the shear number of packets I've gotten but that I still get so many new to me varieties.

When you open your package you learn just how special this small community really is. When we all pitch in together, things ROCK! Look at what we all just did!!! Open your package and be in AWE!

Thank you to everyone here who participated and who helped to make this event so special.

Thank you to Gary who not only donates so many seeds, but who gives so much of yourself in organizing this fantastic event and who helps to keep my off of the streets.

My daughter just sent me a picture of the envelope I asked her to look out for. She cut open one side, peered in and replied, "Holy moley, Batman! Look at all the tomato seeds!"

So I will have Christmas again in another week.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to grow, dry, package, etc. the seeds for the swap. I can't wait to see each and every one.

And extra thanks to Gary for taking the time to sort, mail, and make us all smile.

It's an amazing pile of seeds. Shaped in a pie, it's a 12" deep dish pizza. Thank you Gary for hosting this wonderful swap and offer. Thank you heirloomtomaguy for sponsoring me, and a huge thank you to all the swappers and wish makers.

Vive le Tomatoville!

Hmmm, let me see, what should I do today?

a) go to work
b) try to do something for humanity
c) play with my seeds

As I went through mine I learned what it's like to be a bank teller counting up at the end of the day.

Romper room? I was on an episode of romper room in the 70's. True story. I remember we played the rhyme game. Miss Nancy asked us to say words that rhyme with mitt. The little girl next to me shouted out sh*t. I can still hear the gasps from her mother to this day.

I just received my package today - wow! Thank you so much for all of your work Gary! I haven't even had a chance to look at them all, but the suggested grow list for next year is impressive by itself!

Thank you - I'll be looking through these for days until I finally choose which ones to plant this spring vs. which ones will have to wait until next!
