I hope I am doing it right. This is my first year doing these swaps. I am sending in total between tomatoes, peppers and beans 300+ packs
I cant wait to see your beans and also what everyone else is sending in.
I have to post my wish list. I tried to access the doc they had posted I couldnt access the bean doc.
After I was done packing up everything.I was going to post everything I was sending in and the number of packs each.

Smiley, It would probably be a good idea to include your wish list (typed or handwritten) in with the packets you are sending as it will make Gary's job a lot easier!

You are sending in a ton of packets and will surely get a boatload back!!!!!

Enjoy!

I know the instructions are around here somewhere, but in the mailer we are asked to include a sheet of paper with our name, forum name, address, email address (optional, I believe), our wish list in alphabetical order and then numbered by priority, which catagory(ies) we are entering and what variety we are sending 10 packets of for that category, an alphabetical list of seeds we are sending to fill others wish list, and an alphabetical list of any bonus seeds we are sending in.

You don't put a person's name on them. You send them in and Gary divides them up. That way he doesn't get five people all sending in variety X for person Y and that person getting five packs of seed. Or him giving only one of those packets to that person and four other people getting something with someone else's name on it. There are other reasons like if you only have one packet and there are two people who want it, how do you decide? Gary will compare what is available with what is on that persons wish list and make it fair.

Gary will get it right. He has a great system for this. Just send in what you have and get back tons of great stuff.

FWIW my send in list that I will print out looks something like this (I have altered this version since this is not the spoiler thread, but even so you might be able to figure it out if you look to close so don't read too much into it ) I figure even if I send in a few packs that are meant for wishlists and someone else sends in some for wishlists Gary can divide them up as he sees fit. But stating it this way lets Gary know that that variety is one someone's wish list. (this also isn't my whole list, just a sample). IDK if this is the best way to do it, but it's what I am doing this year.

A- Cherry/Grape/Currant, 10 packs
A 21 packs, category, plus 1 for wishlist
A- whatever 20 packs
B- y/g/o/Bi-color/Tri-color/etc, 11 packs, category plus 1 for wishlist
B- Striped, 11 packs, category plus 1 for wishlist
D- Red, 22 packs, category plus 2 for wishlist
G- Black, 15 packs, 10 for category plus 5 for wishlists
H- patio/container, 10 for category
I-2 packs bonus
M-3 packs for wishlist/bonus (this one I know someone else is sending in for wishlist)
P- Yellow/Gold/Orange/Bi-color/Tri-color/White, 20 packs for category
R-2 packs bonus
S- Very Early, 10 packs for category
S-3 packs for wishlists

Just remember that he prefers the varieties in each section (category, wish lists, etc) alphabetized so that it's easier to work with.

I have mine in two sections: sent in, and wish list (one side for tomatoes, one for peppers). Is there a better way to do it?

Quick question as I organize and prep my seeds...can I enter the same variety in more than one category? For example, if I have a great meaty heart tomato, can I send 10 packs for the heart category and another 10 packs of the same variety for the paste/canner category?

Absolutely Happy, and if they are red or pink, you can send in 10 more for that category too!

Most people put ALL the info only on the send in list for Gary, and then each packet has only name and year saved. My handwriting is terrible and my typing and computer skills are great so I just type it all up and make little labels to print. My son then writes the year on them (or sometimes I do). But I put a bunch of info on that way, and sometimes a pic of the fruit it came from (or something from that batch anyway) if I get around to it. Most people don't go to all that effort though. It is time consuming, but easier for me with my terrible writing (plus writing physically hurts my hand, always has, even in elementary, typing for some reason doesn't).

A quick question.
Do we put our usernames on the labels of the seeds we send in?
So if next season someone has a question about a tomato plant from the seeds we sent in,they will know who to contact about it.
Thanks
Susan
