Only a few of my outdoor plants have the wilt. I think the rest are going to be ok.

June 10th is very early for our area. I'm running a little later than normal here in Northern Kentucky. Should still be able to get a few in before July though.

Cole, I have the same thing this year, with plants too long in the pot (way too long!), and a week after transplant they're not doing the big growth spurt as yet. First time I've seen that, as I usually get them in asap if I see a first flower.

Glad to see your early fruit, and fingers crossed that the wilt has taken all it'll get!

I picked a few Esterina F1 and some Polarnij Skorospelnij (Polar Early) the day before yesterday. Other than the one Utynyok, they are my first ripe outdoor tomatoes. Taste test coming when they ripen fully.

I was at my dad's house today, and he has a nice garden, but my outdoor plants are still about 2-3 weeks ahead of his. He and I both planted out at about the same time. The black plastic mulch and raised ridges are the difference in making my plants earlier.

I have to do this in my Mom's garden, Cole. I have the horse manure, I'm gonna take a few bags of it and dig it in and raise the tomato ridge. I don't think I can swing the mulch, maybe I could use black landscape fabric instead that allows water through. We have no drip system although she needs it... when you're over 80 you should just turn on the tap and that's enough work on the garden. Anyway no resources for that now, but I do have some of that black fabric stuff I could use for her little tomato row. Need to plant it Saturday.

It's a shame that small-scale drip is comparatively so much more expensive to set up than large scale. I buy drip tape by the 5,000 foot roll, and it is extremely cheap per-foot when bought like that in bulk.

Are you sure? My three look like they are dying horribly, yet are all still cranking out the fruit.



Maybe it's a Russian version of camouflage. The Mongols won't burn crops that are already dying...

Thanks, and yes, Mat-Su in the back. I have picked a wide range of sizes in the Mat-Su.

Sadly, my dwarfs are in one of the areas that has the wilt the worst, so they are going to make about 2 or 3 fruit per plant and then die.

I picked a few Painted Pink just now. They have ripened right behind the Esterina.
