Hmmm, I don't know if Blue Shackamaxon has the most colorful pod. I hear it's mostly green, and turns kind of purple when it is starting to dry (possibly tough and near inedible). I will also send some other colorful snaps (purple, pink, etc...in their early tender stage). Maybe a few colorful dry beans, too.

We love pole and bush beans (the fresh eating kind, not dry), so any extras will enjoy a good home by us. If there's a spare pinch of milkweed, we will happily plant some and support he butterfly population in our garden.

Thanks!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all!

I have a pic in WWW heirloom gardening book that shows Blue Shackamaxon in the shelly stage and they are a pretty cobalt blue. Shelly beans are one of our favorites here in VA. Hoping they will draw attention from my daughter. Thank you for the other offers they sound lovely. The pink sounds interesting, haven't seen them before.

Santa is going to be a little late.

It's not that you've been naughty or nice, it's that in making my list, I need all of your lists. I'm still trying to track down people that didn't send them in, and their emails lists did not come through either. Most, if not all, are from the Gardenweb part of the swap. Plus, quite a few people were late sending things in. One package arrived today. Several varieties that were #1 on others wish lists were in it. So, that made up the lateness.

Hopefully I'll start sending packages on Dec. 26th. I'll list the traders state/name (abbreviated) when it goes out, so you'll know to expect it in a few days.

Example... John Smith from New York...

NY J Sm

If I'm able to host next year, I think I'll have to do a weekly reminder..

At the top of your paper wish list...
a legible return address...
email/ and or T'ville handle
wish list in alphabetical order...
send in list in alphabetical order (this means varieties in alphabetical order, not categories in alphabetical order)...
At least I think I have everything done for the holidays, so all of my spare time can go into the swap, from now through Jan 1st.

Gary,

While you'd probably love to get it done and over with for another year, I'm sure many of us would rather see you take the time to enjoy the holidays with your family and friends instead of worrying about rushing off to the post office the day after Christmas. Make us wait a little longer--we'll survive!

Happy holidays!

I completely agree. Happy holidays Gary. Take some time off.

It has been fun thinking of what could possibly be in that envelope. It reminds me of being a child waiting for a special present, but I'm 49, and I can wait.

We only live and get to spend time with friends and family once. The seeds will wait. Have a wonderful holiday and happy New Year to all!

Gary, thanks for having me as a first timer in the swap! This is my first post on Tomatoville, and I thought a nice use of it would be to thank you for being such an accomodating host for the Marvelous Mystery 'mater Mailing and wish you happy holidays!

Someone mentioned something about any funny moments? Well, yes again, to me. I didn't realize most of my tape was used up for the holiday. And, Walmart was completely out, when I went to get more. Finally got some, so...packages going out today...

CA D Br
CO J Wa
FL D Co
FL B Ka
France Y Me (1 of 2)
IL E Er
ND G Ro
NY M Jo

I'm at about 10% sent back, 90% to go.

Several more should be going out Tuesday. I'm not sure if I can get anything out on Wednesday. I'll likely be off-line until Jan. 2nd, when many will likely be sent.

Wow! I'm so fortunate to be in the first mailing for the swap. Thank you so much Gary.

Soon will be the time to choose tomatoes to grow. Thank you everyone who donated their many seeds so we can try so many new varieties. I always have a few 'regulars' and love to experiment with new ones.

Thanks to last year's swap, my daughter has a new favorite grape tomato - a yellow Hssiao His Hung Shih. She loves the sweetness and the freeness (it this a word?) of this new-to-me tomato. So I now have to grow 3+ of these plants instead of the one.

Peace, love, prosperity, and a great harvest to everyone in 2015. May it be a great year!
